Help for Homeless Who Live in Broward County, Florida

You live in Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, FL and need physical or financial assistance? This article is for you. Communities do their best to help those in need and here is a list for those who live in Broward County.

I will start my list with daytime shelters. Silver Impact and St. Laurence Chapel can help you by providing you clothes and shower facilities. The Chapel is also a legal address for those who need one. They can receive mail there.

There are also hospital emergency facilities in every part of the county. Some examples are Holy Cross Hospital, Broward Health Coral Springs, Broward Health Imperial Point, and Northwest Medical Center. They provide fast services and have different locations in the county.

There are also non-profit organizations who have different locations around the county. For example, The Task Force For Ending Homelessness is a non-profit organization that help homeless with their financial and physical needs. They also educate them and help those with mental illness. The county also has a helpline for homeless, which is the Coordinated Entry and Assessment Screening, Information and Referral (CEASIR). Their phone number is 954.563.HELP (4357).

Life is unpredictable. Someone can easily lose everything they have in less than five minutes.

For that, there are emergency housing in Broward County. The Salvation Army provides emergency housing as well as the organization Hope South Florida. The Broward Outreach Center also has the North Homeless Assistance Center, for homeless with unexpected needs.

If you live in Broward County and you are homeless and have special needs, especially medical needs like HIV and other aids issues, there still have up for you. Organizations such as the Broward House Supportive Housing and Social Services, the House of Hope, and the Susan N. Anthony house, which is a supportive housing for women and children, are here to help you.

People with specific needs are also not forgotten. If you need only food or meals, the St. Laurence Chapel provides breakfast from 8:30 AM to 9:00 and lunch from 12:30pm to 1:00 pm. The Jubilee Center of South Broward also provides lunch from 11:00AM to 12:00 PM from Monday to Friday. “Our Fathers House Soup Kitchen” also has bag dinners and a food pantry for those in need. If you need clothes, the Jubilee Center of South Broward provides clothes from Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM and the St. Laurence Chapel provides clothes from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

If you are looking for a job, the Skills assessment and job placement department of Career Source Broward can help you. The volunteers of America of Florida also help. If you need to get educated organizations, such as the School Social Work and Attendance Department, can help you. The School Social Work and Attendance Département is in every area of the county: North, North Central, South, and South Central.
